The softening point test determines the temperature at which bitumen or other bituminous materials soften under specified conditions. The test is essential for evaluating the consistency and temperature susceptibility of bituminous binders used in road construction and other applications. Can also be supplied for the Thermoplastic Adhesive, Resin, Plastic, Paraffin wax, rubber, grease and various other material as per their respective test standards.

Introduction:

Also called Softening Point Apparatus. This apparatus is meant for determination of softening point of bituminous materials according to listed ASTM & IP Standards.

The fully automatic ring and ball capable to conduct the entire test automatically. You just have to place samples and press start button, everything else will be taken care off by the Instrument itself. Machine is capable to conduct the test with water and glycerin. Automatic rise of the temperature at 5°C per min. The Instrument will stop automatically once the ball touches the bottom of the stand and freeze the temperature at that time.

The machine is equipped with lead screw mechanism for the up down of the sample. By one touch the sample can be moved in side the beaker at the testing position and by one touch can come to the home position for cleaning and changing of the samples.
