Cone for Fluidity test as per BS EN 445/ EN 447:2007 (fig-1)
(a) Cone : A cone as shown. It will be robust and manufactured from G.I. (Can be manufactured in S.S. at extra cost)
(b)Sieve : The sieve aperture will be about 1.5 mm and the sieve will be filled as shown in Figure and will be removable.
(c) Stopwatch : The stop watch shall be accurate to 0.2 s in 60 s and shall show time to 0.1s (Not included and available at extra cost)
(d) Cylinder : A graduated Plastic cylinder of 1 liter capacity and diameter in the range 60mm to 150mm
Test Procedure
Mount the cone with its axis vertical and its largest diameter uppermost. Fix the sieving medium at the position indicated in figure B3. During the test prevent the cone from vibrating. Place the cylinder under the cone outlet . All surfaces of the cone shall be clean and shall be dampened so that the surfaces are moist but without free water. Close the lower cone orifice.
Pour the grout through the sieve to fill the conical section of the cone. Pouring shall be sufficiently slow to prevent the build-up of air in the grout in the cone . Open the lower cone orifice and the same time, start the stopwatch. Measure the time taken to the nearest 0.5 s to fill the cylinder to 1 liter. The Presence of lumps on the sieve shall be reported. For suitability Testing, Three tests shall be carried out, the first immediately after the grout is mixed and the remaining two test at the estimated time to grout a duct or a minimum of 30 minutes after the grout is mixed. The grout shall be kept agitated while awaiting testing. esc
