The wet sieving process under ASTM C430 is used to determine the fineness of hydraulic cement and fly ash using the wet sieving method. This test helps quantify the residue of cement particles retained on a specified sieve after washing, providing insights into the particle size distribution of the cement. The retained material on the sieve gives an indication of the fineness level, with finer cements generally associated with better reactivity and early strength development.

Description

Supplied with Pressure Gauge, Spray Nozzle fitting to attach the Apparatus to a Water Source.

Details:

The apparatus comprises of following parts and accessories

  1. A special stainless steel sieve, 0.045 mm opening, No.325 stainless steel wire cloth. The frame is 2 inches (50.8 mm) diameter, and 3 inches (76.2 mm) deep from rim to cloth.
  2. A spray nozzle Ø 17.5 mm diameter with 17 holes, Ø 0.5 mm oriented and spaced to conform to the standards.
  3. Supplied complete with a pressure gauge of Ø 80 mm diameter and fittings for connection to the water supply.
  4. Analytical weighing Balance available separately
