The apparatus is designed to measure the co‑efficient of discharge of orifice & mouthpiece. The trainer is self‑sufficient unit to study the calibration & characteristics of orifice & mouthpieces. The calibration of these meters can be studied by comparing calculated flow with actual flow measured in measuring tank.

Brief Construction Details :
- The setup consists of sump tank, pump, constant head tank & measuring tank.
- The orifice or mouthpiece can be interchanged & experiment can be performed.
- Constant head tank is fitted with discharge fixture, where both orifice and mouthpiece can be fitted.
- A jet collecting tank collects the discharge and X‑Y Trajectory probes Measures coordinates of jet.
- Flow & level of water in constant head tank can be adjusted by flow control valve, so that number of readings can be taken.
- Test orifices of different diameters & mouthpieces of different shapes are supplied with the system.
- Thus Cd, Cc, & Cv of orifice as well as Cd of mouthpiece can be determined.
- The entire system is mounted on a sturdy MS frame.
