Applications:

Used for determining the breaking point of solid and semi-solid bitumen. The Fraas Breaking Point is the temperature at which bitumen first becomes brittle, as indicated by the appearance of cracks when a thin-film of the bitumen on a metal plaque is cooled and flexed in accordance with specified conditions.

Apparatus Details:

Consists of following parts and accessories

1. 3 nos disposable plaque metal plate,
2. 2 nos test tube,
3. 1 no glass cylinder with base,
4. 3 nos silicon rubber cork
5. 1 no bending apparatus
6. 1 no Funnel for introducing the dry ice
7. 1 thermometer (IP-42C) (-38°C to + 30°C), subdivisions 0.5°C

Optional accessories required to carry out test(at extra cost)

1. Hot plate 20 cm dia
2. Calcium chloride
3. Acetone
4. Weighing balance with an accuracy of 0.01 gm or more
5. Dry ice making machine
6. Co2 cylinder for dry ices
7. Additional plaque metal plate
