DETERMINATION OF RESISTANCE TO THERMAL SHOCK ON GLASSWARE

AS PER IS 6506.1972(R.A.2017) - Hot and Cold Water method. This method applies to all kinds of glass containers for pharmaceutical use, whose test temperature difference is less than 100℃. Apparatus as IS:11930(ISO 7459) also available


AS PER IS 6506.1972(R.A.2017) - Hot and Cold Water method. This method applies to all kinds of glass containers for pharmaceutical use, whose test temperature difference is less than 100℃.


Instruments:


Hot water bath: The volume of the bath will be as specified. Equippted with water circulation system, temperature control components and heaters for temperature regulation to keep the water temperature stable within the upper limit temperature t1±1℃.

Cold water bath: The volme of the bath will be as specified. Equippted with water circulation system, temperature control components and heaters for temperature regulation to keep the water temperature stable within the lower limit temperature t2±1℃.

Net basket: The material of the net basket will be of S.S.304 and will not scratch or rub the samples during the test. The net basket is able to hold the glass samples upright and separated from each other and equipped with a device to fix the samples and prevent them from floating when immersed.


  1. A suitable mechanism places the specimen basket in each chamber alternately, subjecting it to thermal shock.
  2. Usage temperature range(in water) for cold bath: room temperature
  3. Usage temperature range(in water) for hot bath: above ambient to 95 °C


Test description


The test sample is placed in a stainless steel specimen basket, then placed in the chambers by a suitable mechanism to apply low temperature-high temperature thermal shock.


Construction Details:


  1. Both the Chamber equipped with PID temp controller.
  2. Highly accurate Individual control Loop for precise control of temp. within ±1℃.
  3. Interior fabricated from Mirror Polished Stainless Steel (S.S.-304 Grade).
  4. Exterior body is also fabricated from Mild Steel material with powder coating
  5. Electrical wiring as per CE Compliance
  6. Aesthetic outer appearance and high quality


Heating System:


Long lasting SS tubular heater used as heating element.
