Apparatus Details
Determination of Absolute and kinematic Viscosity with the following components:
- Constant Temperature Bath - A suitable bath for immersion of 4 Nos capillary viscometers so that the liquid reservoir or top of the capillary, whichever is uppermost is at least 20mm below the upper bath level. There is provision for full visibility of viscometer and the thermometer. The accuracy of the temperature in the bath will be ± 0.03°C throughout the bath. The bath is suitable to test Absolute Viscosity @ 60⁰C and Kinematic Viscosity at 135⁰C.
- Silicone bath oil suitable up to 150°C.
- Vacuum System - A Vacuum system capable of maintaining a vacuum to within ± 0.05 cm of the desired level up to and including 30cm of mercury. The Glass tubing and glass joints will be completely airtight with no loss of vacuum. A Vacuum or aspirator pump suitable for the vacuum source : The system will consist of vacuum pump (Oil less), moisture trap, vacuum regulator, electronic vacuum indicator cum controller, bleed valve, all interconnecting tubing/piping and all accessories to complete the vacuum system.
- Thermometer for Bath - IP 93C and IP 35C
- Built in Digital Timing Device - A stop watch capable of reading up to 0.01 second.
- Cannon Manning Vacuum Viscometer Tubes of Size 12 and 13 Supplied with calibration certificate, viscometer tube holder and silicone cork. This will cover the Viscosity range from 800-3200 poise.
- Viscometer Stand for holding 4 viscometers, with silicon corks.
- Reverse flow Viscometer to cover Viscosity range of 250-400 cst (1 Nos.)
