BRAZILIAN TEST APPARATUS AS PER IS : 10082 (1981)

As per IS : 10082 (1981). A loading frame, 100kN Capacity, having a base and a cross head joined together with two solid pillars with nuts. On the base, a 100kN hydraulic jack is fixed between the pillars & a heavy duty pumping unit and oil reservoir on the side. A 100kN capacity pressure gauge is fixed to the jack for indicating the load on the specimen. An operating handle for the jack is also provided. One Brazilian Attachment for 'NX' size core size specimen with thickness half the diameter is supplied as a standard. Digital version also available

As per IS : 10082 (1981).
The instrument is designed to test specimens from 50 mm dia to 100 mm dia having thickness equal to half of the diameter for determination of Indirect Tensile Strength.
Standard supply to hold 50mm dia samples.
A pair of loading jaws, designed so as to contact a disc shaped sample at diametrically opposed surfaces over an arc of contact of about 10 degrees at failure, is supplied. The set of jaws supplied with the equipment is designed for 50 mm dia specimen and therefore it is essential to order jaws for required sizes, if the samples of other diameters are to be tested.
Extra Brazilian Test Attachment / grips for other sizes i.e.. 60, 70, 80, 90 & 100 mm or AX, BX, NX etc. of rock core specimens available on request.
