MODULUS OF ELASTICITY FOR ROCK - IS : 9221-1979

MODULUS OF ELASTICITY FOR ROCK / CONCRETE

The modulus of elasticity (or Young's modulus) of rock is an important parameter in rock mechanics, indicating the rock's ability to deform elastically under load. The modulus of elasticity is typically determined during an unconfined compression test by measuring axial strain under applied stress.Complete with 500 KN Automatic Pace Rate Control machine with attachment for Digital Readout of Modulus of elasticity for rock along with determination of Poisson's ratio along with a displacement sensor

Determination of 500 KN-AUTOMATIC PACE RATE CONTROLLED WITH PC MANAGER SOFTWARE TO DETERMINATION OF POISSION'S RATIO AND MOE

As per IS : 9221-1979(R.A.2021)

Automatic Test Execution

Once the machine has been switched on, the specimen positioned and centered, the only required operations are

  1. Set test parameters ‑ including load rate
  2. Press the start button
  3. Tighten the pressure valve
  4. The machine automatically: starts the rapid approach; switches to the test speed once the specimen comes into contact with the upper platen; automatically stops the motor upon specimen failure
  5. Release the pressure valve
  6. The test execution conforming to Standards can be easily proved.
  7. Working on 240V, 50‑60Hz, single phase.
  8. Dual stage pump assuring fast piston approach and precise test execution
  9. Test execution conforming to EN 12390‑4, ASTM C39, AASHTO T22
  10. Controllable pace rate from 1 KN/Sec to 10 KN/Sec.
  11. Auto stop after completion of each test.
  12. Soft platen‑to‑specimen contact and smooth load rate control from the very beginning of the ramp
  13. Supplied complete with a displacement sensor
  14. Displacement range : 0.01 mm to 15 mm
  15. Least count : 0.01 mm
  16. Accuracy : 1%
  17. Graph can be stored in computer and printed from the computer
  18. Direct report can be generated from the computer
  19. Software can be connected to any computer with I3 processor and operating system windows 10. Min 4 GB ram and 500 GB hard disk required.
  20. Displacement sensor can be adjusted as per the size of the sample.
  21. Rock sample has to be surface grinded.

Frame

  1. Four column high stiffness welded frame tested for stability.
  2. Heavy duty spherical seat , allowing initial free alignment at the initial contact with the specimen and automatic jamming up to the end of test.
  3. Surface hardness of platen is 55 HRC, flatness tolerance 0.03 mm. Traceable certificate of surface hardness available on request.
  4. Piston travel limit switch (Extra cost)
  5. Emergency stop button

Salient feattures of data manager PC software

  1. Two way communication i.e machine operates from computer and from the touch screen controller both (Stat, stop, save data and save graph)
  2. Results directly saved in excel file
  3. Graph also saved in excel file
  4. Capable to save customer name, other details of customer, ageing of test specimen, identification mark of the test specimen, date and time of testing
  5. Capable to print direct report from the computer
  6. Capable to select different test parameters like pace rate, sample size and area from the computer (software)
  7. Stress Vs. strain graph
  8. Direct determination of the poisson's ratio in software

NOTE : It is recommended to use the machine with 3 KVA servo stabilizer
