Purpose:

The ability of turbine, hydraulic, or lubricating oil to separate entrained air is a key performance characteristic in applications where agitation causes a dispersion of air bubbles in the oil. To determine air release properties, the sample is heated to a specified test temperature and blown with compressed air. After the air flow is stopped, the time required for the air entrained in the oil to reduce in volume to 0.2% is the air bubble separation time.


Construction Details :

The entire assembly consists of following parts and accessories to form the complete test apparatus.

  1. The main unit comprises of an air heater, fine control pressure regulator (Flow meter), pressure gauge, and mounting clip for the test vessel.
  2. Steel wire for sinker suspension
  3. Moisture trap
  4. Pressure gauge specifications : 0.35KPa with divisions at least every 2KPa and an accuracy of 1.5KPa with needle valve
  5. Manual lifting in slider area to move test vessel from air source to sinker facility
  6. Integrated touch screen programmable controller with data logging facility
  7. Integrated Digital automated density balance with stand and sinker to directly measure the density value
  8. Integrated Digital constant temperature circulating bath with circulating pump of flow rate 10 LPM
  9. Automatic calculation of final sample density for determination of air release value
