Applications

To test tensile adhesion strength of thermal spray coatings according to ASTM-C633. This test method covers the determination of the degree of adhesion (bonding strength) of a coating to a substrate or the cohesion strength of the coating in a tension normal to the surface.

Details

1. A 25mm diameter steel cylinder end is sprayed with the required coating.
2. Another cylinder with the same diameter (25 mm)  is glued on top of this.
3. After positioning this assembly into the tensile testing machine they are pulled apart.
4. Maximum pull stress is recorded on tensile machine.

Scope of supply

1. 2 insert holders with coupling Af318 (incl. 2 threaded inserts and 2x M16 grub screws)
2. 2 test cylinders
