The distillation of cutback asphalt, according to IS 1213 and ASTM D402, is a test to determine the proportions of volatile components in cutback asphalt by distilling off the volatile fractions at specified temperatures. This process helps to understand the composition and stability of the cutback asphalt in terms of the amount of volatiles present. Complete with one distillation flask of 500ml. capacity and one 100 ml. crow receiver Electrically heated model with Energy regulator.


The apparatus consists of a heavy gauge shield, lagged with asbestos cover in two parts and wire gauge. The shield is supported on a platform with chimney arranged for fitting to stand. Set of glass ware consisting of flask, condenser receiver is supplied. The flask is heated by a Hot plate and controlled by Energy regulator.
