Brief construction details:

1. The apparatus consists of a cast aluminum base with an iron stand, on which moves an aluminum arm.
2. A Digital Penetration indicator fixed on this arm and a brass chromium plated rod slide through the lower portion of the arm.
3. A Hollow Brass cone with plunger is fitted to this rod as per the test application.
4. Rack, pinion and pointer assembly is provided for fine adjustment of Penetration Arm / Head
5. The base of the instrument is also user adjustable. It can also be lifted up / down with the jack provided at the bottom.
6. The automatic digital timer and electrical arrangement, which on push of a button, allows the plunger rod to fall freely for 5 seconds and clamps it automatically after 5 seconds.
7. The penetration value is measured and indicated on Digital Vertical Ruler.
8. The penetration time is controlled and indicated on Digital Timer Panel with least count of 0.1 second.
9. Digital Linear Scale measures the penetration distance in 0.01 mm accuracy.
10. Operates on 230 Volt, 50 Hz, Single Phase, AC Supply
