As per (IS:2720 Part XI & XII ) for determining the shear strength parameters of saturated soils from triaxial compression shear tests conducted under consolidated undrained conditions with measurements of pore water pressures. The Triaxial Test System provides triaxial compression tests on cylindrical undisturbed and remolded soil samples. Unconsolidated undrained (UU), consolidated drained (CD) and consolidated undrained (CU) compression tests can be carried out using this apparatus. Supplied complete with Triaxial cell for 38mm dia specimen, Loading Frame 50 KN with 6 different speeds, Proving ring 2 KN with Calibration report, Dial Gauge 0.01 X 25mm travel, Analog readout to measure pore water pressure and Air/Water Constant Pressure system with air compressor.. To work on 220/230 Volts, single phase, AC power supply. Volume Change Gauge, De-airing apparatus, Accessories for soil sample preparation, extrusion, trimming and for measurement of size, weight, water content, etc. can be supplied at extra cost .

1. TRIAXIAL CELL - FOR 38MM DIA SOIL SPECIMEN IS : 2720 (PART -XII) (Stationary Bushing) for 38mm dia specimens.:

  1. Consist of following parts and accessories
  2. Loading pad made of perspex for 38mm dia specimens
  3. Pair of plain discs made of perspex of 38mm dia x 6mm thick
  4. Pair of porous stone 38mm dia x 6mm thick
  5. Spilt sand former for 38mm dia specimen
  6. Sheath stretcher for 38mm dia specimen
  7. One dozen rubber sheaths for 38mm dia samples.
  8. For synthetic rubber, 'O' rings for 38mm dia specimen.

 2. LOAD FRAME:

Load Frames is useful device for application of Triaxial Shear test, The load application is effected by advancement of a lead screw secured against rotation by a sliding key. The load is measured with a proving ring.

 It consists of a cabinet which houses the electrical motor, reduction gear and the turret gear box. The loading is done by the upward movement of the lower platen which is firmly fixed to the lead screw. When the level is set in the neutral position, it isolates the lead screw from the rest of the drive mechanism, and the lead screw can then be manually moved up or down by operating the handle. On the unit, a main switch, a jewel lamp and a forward reverse switch are fixed. A relay is fitted inside the cabinet so that in case of power failure, the unit will not restart of its own on resumption of power, unless the switches are operated.


The adjustable cross head can be set at any required height over the two pillars and secured in position by tightening the adjustment nuts. It carries a hexagonal proving ring adaptor. A bracket for strain dial gauge is attached to one of the pillars of the load frame. Rates of strain are 1.25, 0.25, 0.05, 0.01, 0.002, 0.0004 mm/min. Suitable for operation on 230V, 50 Hz, single phase, AC Supply. Complete with the following accessories.


3. BISHOP PORE PRESSURE APPARATUS


Consists of panel for wall mounting fitted with a 20cm dia pressure gauge with measuring range 1.0 to 10Kg/cm² x 0.1Kg/cm² and Manometer and Burette as follows.


MANOMETER: Glass U-tube manometer for measuring low positive pore pressures negative pore pressures and checking zero error of pressure gauge. It is provided with a mercury trap (Mercury supplied at extra cost ) Null indicator made out of clear transparent Perspex with mercury trap and cursor to indicate the mercury level.


Pressure pump fitted with four sleeve packed valve, Operated by means of a hand wheel on the end of the piston rod which is threaded thru the pump cap and gives a smooth, fine adjustment of pressure copper coil and water reservoir. The unit is tested against leaks up to 10Kg/cm²


5. AIR/WATER CONSTANT PRESSURE SYSTEM:
