Application

Enables the determination of liquid limit of soil to be performed simply and quickly. The unit is supplied complete with a stainless steel penetration test cone 35mm long with a smooth polished surface and an angle of 30°.

Brief Construction Details

The apparatus consists of a cast aluminum base with a steel chrome plated stand on which moves an aluminum arm.
A 6" dial is fixed on this arm and a brass chromium plated rod slide through the lower portion of the arm.
The dial is graduated from 0 - 400 in 1/10th millimeter sub division.
A metallic test cone - (35mm long and having smooth polished surface and at an angle of 30°), is fixed at the end of a metallic rod, with a disc at the top of the rod so as to have a total sliding weight of 80 ± 0.5 gms.
The total rod will pass through two guides (to ensure vertical movement) fixed to a stand.
The base of the unit is fitted with the adjustable platform which can be lifted up/down according to user requirement.
Also, arm of the instrument is fitted with adjustable mechanism in order to precisely arrange the cone tip on the sample surface.

Instrument is having electrical arrangement to release the cone automatically on press of the button and DIGITAL timer to digitally control penetration duration.
Supplied complete with provision of Penetration cone height adjustment, Metallic penetration test cone (1 No), Penetration test cup (50mm diameter x 50 mm deep)(1 No), Automatic digital penetrometer timer, Transistorised and electrical arrangement.
